PEOPLE Playing: PLACES Played: PRIZES Won: PAST Events:
As honorary historian for the Victorian Polo Association, I hope that players, families, friends and polo followers will find interest in these pages; basically the VPA ARCHIVES and some personal memories.
The plan for the archives is for a ‘Work in Progress’ – using the VPA website as a gateway for readers’ additions and amendments, after VPA ratification.
CLAIMS! - VICTORIA’S Warrnambool as the FIRST polo playing district and HEXHAM as Australia’s OLDEST continuing polo club.
MELBOURNE ’1sts’:
MELBOURNE CUP - 1861: POLO MATCH - 1875: CRICKET TEST – 1877
